Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a traffic light damage monitoring system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology that utilizes GPS sensors and INA219 sensors. This system aims to automatically monitor the operational status of traffic lights, detect damage or disruption to lights, and send notifications to transportation officers through the Telegram application. The INA219 sensor is used to detect the electric current flowing at the traffic light, while the GPS sensor functions to monitor the location of the traffic light. The data obtained from these sensors will be processed by the NodeMCU microcontroller and sent to the server, which will then be forwarded to the Telegram application for real-time notifications. The results of this study show that the system developed is able to accurately detect traffic light damage and provide timely information to officers, thus allowing faster and more efficient handling of traffic light damage. IoT technology has proven to be effective in improving traffic light monitoring performance and providing a practical solution for better transportation infrastructure management.
