Abstract

In the rapidly evolving digital era, effective event management requires an efficient information system to enhance participant engagement and streamline the execution of activities. The Faculty of Engineering, which held more than 57 events throughout 2023, still relies heavily on manual methods for registration, announcements, and event evaluations. These manual processes often lead to delays, data inaccuracies, and limited real-time visibility. To address these challenges, this study aims to develop a web-based event management system to improve efficiency and participant involvement. The system is developed using the Extreme Programming (XP) methodology, with supporting technologies including Node.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Google Calendar API, and Firebase Realtime Database. The platform offers key features such as event data management, online registration, real-time notifications, and participant feedbackbased evaluations. User testing results showed an average satisfaction score of 3.28 (equivalent to 82%), indicating a positive response to the developed system. The system successfully addresses the limitations of the previous manual process, providing users and organizers with improved access to event information, easier management, and faster, more accurate evaluations. This research is expected to serve as a digital solution that supports more structured and efficient event management within the Faculty of Engineering.
