Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of learning video media on students' critical thinking skills in economics subjects. The method of this research uses a quasi-experiment. The population of this study is the students of SMA Negeri 1 Seberida, class XII IPS. To achieve the objectives of this research, a sample of 2 classes is needed, selected based on specific criteria that have balanced and equal skills or abilities, resulting in class XII IPS A being chosen as the control class and class XII IPS D as the experimental class as the research subjects. The data collection techniques used were pretest and posttest, with data analysis techniques using the independent sample t-test. The independent-sample t-test results show a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. The average post-test score of the experimental class (76.00) is higher than that of the control class (62.00), with a difference of 14 points. Thus, the use of video-based learning media has a positive impact on improving students' critical thinking skills in the fundamental accounting equation material.
