Abstract

This research aims to find out Malay Creative Dance in Shaping the Character of Art Education Students at the Islamic University of Riau Odd Semester for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This study uses the theory of national mind (2010:09- 10) about 18 Character Education Values. This research uses a descriptive method of analysis with a qualitative approach method, data collection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. This research was carried out in the Performing Arts Education Study Program in semester 5 in class B. The values of character education in this Malay creative dance course, namely: Religious Education Values, namely dressing modestly and using hijab. The value of honest education they apply the value of honesty, both in terms of movement and behavior. Their Tolerance Education Value always helps each other who has difficulty memorizing movements. The value of their Discipline Education is to prioritize discipline over time. The value of Hard Work Education they always practice with seriousness and never give up. Their Creative Education value makes works inspired by various regions in Riau. The value of Independent Education is that they are independent by correcting their own wrong movements. The value of Democratic Education they always respect differences of opinion. Curiosity Education Values They are always learning new movements and exchanging ideas. The Educational Value of National Spirit and the Educational Value of Love for the Motherland in the way they raise the theme of dance from their region. Educational Values Appreciate Achievement They always appreciate the achievements of others without envy. The value of Friendly/Communicative Education they always maintain communication and always establish good relationships with their groupmates. The value of Peace-loving education they respect each other so that there is no division. Educational Values Love to Read They read the history of the dance they are working on. The value of Education Caring for the Environment They always maintain the cleanliness of the classroom and the place where they practice. The value of Social Care Education they always give direction and motivation. The value of their responsibility education applies in memorizing movements, and improving movements.
