Abstract

Saving money is one of the effective ways to do positive activities. Instilling a culture of saving from childhood because it can form the character of individuals who are frugal and disciplined in using money so that they can prepare for future needs. The use of piggy banks as a medium of saving has always been commonly used in addition to getting convenience in saving but also useful for teaching children from an early age how to save money. Piggy banks at home generally cannot know how much nominal the user saves periodically. As a result, users such as school children easily feel bored and not interested in saving because they can only save money without knowing how much nominal amount has been saved, thus reducing the motivation of school children to save. With the Internet of Things (IoT) service, smart savings in the piggy bank will send nominal data of money through android to the user who will later calculate the amount of nominal money in the piggy bank. The application of this technology can be an alternative to the smart savings system in piggy banks. In this study, a piggy bank system was used using the tcs3200 sensor as the nominal detection of banknotes and the load cell sensor as the nominal detection of coins. The android system will later monitor the nominal amount of banknotes and coins.
