Abstract

Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (UUPK) which is expected to provide fair trade business activities, not only for shipping service actors but also directly for the benefit of consumers. However, there are still several problems related to consumer protection in shipping goods, especially at PT Erte Tours & Travel Bukittinggi. In this study, the researcher wants to know the form of legal protection provided by PT Erte Tours & Travel Bukittinggi and the form of consumer obstacles in obtaining legal protection at PT Erte Tours & Travel. This thesis research uses a descriptive method in which the researcher describes the events and research results using sentences that are easy to digest and easy to understand by the reader. The data collection method used by the researcher is by direct interviews with sources related to this case. Field observations to observe cases that occur and with literature studies using books, journals or previous research. The results obtained from this study are that the implementation of protection for Business Actors for the actions of consumers using shipping services in practice has not been running well. lack of understanding of the legal protection that has been established and existing regulations only provide repressive legal protection.
