Abstract

The crime committed by a child in conflict with the law as a recidivist who is supervised by the Pekanbaru Class II Correctional Center, which the author examined is a crime of theft. Based on the data obtained, there were 2 children who had been sentenced by the court to commit the crime of theft and then supervised by the Pekanbaru Fathers, these two children were recidivists or had been convicted and had repeated the crime of theft again. Based on the background above, the main issues in writing this thesis are first the implementation of mentoring of children as repeat offenders of theft (recidivist) at the Class II Correctional Center in Pekanbaru City and the factors that cause children to become repeat offenders of theft. This type of research is Sociological or observational research by means of a survey, namely research that collects data directly from the population with a data collection tool, namely interviews, after which the data is collected and processed so that conclusions are obtained using the deductive method. Meanwhile, when viewed from its nature, this research is descriptive in nature, namely research that explains in the form of clear and detailed sentences. Guidance for children as repeat offenders at the Class II Correctional Center in Pekanbaru City is carried out through 2 forms of guidance, namely personality guidance and independence guidance, while the factors that cause children to become repeat offenders are 2 factors that influence the internal and external factors.
