Abstract
Currently, the increasing divorce rate in society has been rising every year. Based on the initial observations in Mayang Sari Village, Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency, the divorce rate in the community continues to grow. This is further exacerbated by the prevalence of early marriages in the community. In addition to disputes and Domestic Violence (DV), early marriage has become one of the factors contributing to the rising divorce rate. Various issues, such as economic limitations or lack of readiness to undergo married life, are also triggers for the occurrence of divorce. The main problem in this research is what is the role of BP4 in preventing underage marriage as a cause of the increasing divorce rate in Mayang Sari Village, Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency, and what are the consequences of the increasing number of early marriages as a cause of rising divorce rates in Mayang Sari Village, Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency. This research uses empirical legal research with observational research methods or field research through direct surveys. The nature of the research is descriptive-analytical, and the data collection tools used by the researcher are interviews and literature study. Based on the results of the research, it can be understood that the role of BP4 in preventing underage marriage as a cause of the increasing divorce rate in Mayang Sari Village, Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency, is important in providing counseling, mediation, and premarital education to prevent underage marriages. This role aims to reduce negative impacts such as emotional unpreparedness, household conflicts, and divorces that often occur due to early marriages. However, challenges such as cultural factors, economic issues, and low public awareness remain obstacles that affect the effectiveness of BP4's efforts in the region. Therefore, the consequence of the increasing divorce rate in Mayang Sari Village, Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency, is that the high divorce rate in this village negatively impacts the social and emotional stability of the community. Divorce often causes economic instability, psychological trauma for children, and an increase in poverty.
