Abstract
Electric motor performance can be affected by loading. Motors that are operated under the right load can increase their performance so that they obtain torque that suits the application requirements. This research aims to determine the effect of loading on the performance of electric motors. The loads used in this research were 70 kg, 130 kg, 150 kg, 170 kg and 190 kg, all of these loads were tested using gears 1, 2 and 3. Based on the results it can be concluded that. The effect of loading on torque produces the highest value which occurs at a load of 130 kg with a torque value of 20.45 Nm in gear 3 and the lowest value occurs at a load of 190 kg with a torque value of 15.06 Nm in gear 3. The effect of loading on horse power produces the highest value which occurs at a load of 70 kg with a value of 4.8 HP in gear 3 and the lowest value occurs at a load of 190 kg with a value of 2.3 HP in gear 1. Effect Loading on top speed produces the highest value which occurs at a load of 70 kg with a value of 66.8 km/h in gear 3 and the lowest value occurs at a load of 190 kg with a value of 31.8 km/h in gear 1. Comparison of torque, horse power and top speed values between conventional motorbikes (Honda Vario 2010) and electric motorbikes (ECGO 3). In this study, electric motors had a higher torque value (15.95 Nm) than conventional motors (10.83 Nm). The horse power comparison of electric motorbikes (4 HP) is still superior to conventional motorbikes (3.9 HP). Comparison of the top speed of a conventional motorbike (93.6 km/h) has a higher top speed than an electric motorbike (66.8 km/h).
