Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the level of underhand passing ability in volleyball among Grade VII E students at the Operational Unit of SMPN 1 Siak Hulu in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method. The population of this study consists of 35 students from Grade VII E at the Operational Unit of SMPN 1 Siak Hulu in the 2023/2024 academic year. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, where samples are selected based on specific considerations. The sample for this study includes 19 male students from Grade VII E at the Operational Unit of SMPN 1 Siak Hulu in the 2023/2024 academic year. The research instrument used is a volleyball underhand passing test. The data analysis technique involves calculating the scores of students' underhand passing ability in volleyball. Based on the analysis and discussion, it is concluded that the level of underhand passing ability in volleyball among Grade VII E students at the Operational Unit of SMPN 1 Siak Hulu in the 2023/2024 academic year falls into the "sufficient" category, with an average score of 7.84, which falls within the interval of 6.64-9.05.
