The research method used in this thesis research is the type of Empirical or Sociological Law which involves direct study of legal literature in the form of formal legal regulations, namely the Criminal Code (KUHP). The analysis of this research data is carried out qualitatively, namely after all the data has been collected, it will be grouped according to the formulation of the main problem that has been formulated, then the data is connected to each other using logical arguments, legal norms and theories and then analyzed. Based on the results of the study, it shows that efforts to overcome the crime of aggravated theft (curat) are carried out based on the Police Report which is one form of effort made by the Tambusai Police, this is done through actions in the form of arrests, confiscations, detentions, examination of witnesses, examination of suspects and imposition of criminal sanctions. The factors causing the occurrence of the Crime of Aggravated Theft are internal and external factors. Internal factors are the drive that occurs from within oneself, while what is meant by external factors are factors that are created from outside oneself. This factor can be said to be quite complex and varied.
