Abstract

Contribution of Arm Muscle Strength and Hand Eye Coordination to Volleyball Underpassing Skills in the Extracurricular Team of SMPN 6 Sungai Apit. The aim of this research is to determine the contribution of arm muscle strength and hand eye coordination to the bottom passing ability of the SMPN 6 Sungai Apit extracurricular team. This type of research is multiple correlation. The population and sample in this study were the extracurricular team at SMPN 6 Sungai Apit, totaling 15 people. The research instruments used were the push up test, eye and hand coordination test and volleyball underpass test. The data analysis technique used is calculating the multiple correlation value. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: (1) There is a contribution of arm muscle strength to the volleyball underpassing ability of the SMPN 6 Sungai Apit extracurricular team of 40.45% with a value of rcount = 0.636 > rtable = 0.514, (2) There is a contribution of hand eye coordination on the volleyball underpassing ability of the SMPN 6 Sungai Apit extracurricular team of 41.34% with a value of rcount = 0.643 > rtable = 0.514, (3) There is a contribution of arm muscle strength and hand eye coordination to the volleyball underpassing ability of the SMPN 6 Sungai extracurricular team Apit is 56.70% with a value of rcount = 0.753 > rtable = 0.514.
