Abstract

Polymer conductor plates are a type of conductive material made of polymer materials that have the ability to conduct electricity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of composition on polymer conductors. The composition of the polymer in this study consisted of Coal Fly Ash, Graphite, and Epoxy Resin. The manufacture of this polymer uses the Compression Molding method. The study began by conducting a literature study, then making composite plates with a composition of 15% Coal Fly Ash - 65% Graphite - 20% Epoxy Resin, 10% Coal Fly Ash - 70% Graphite - 20% Epoxy Resin, 5% Coal Fly Ash - 75% Graphite - 20% Epoxy Resin (composition fraction). From the results of this study, it was obtained that the high electrical conductivity value in specimen 3 with a composition ratio of 5:75:20 with a value of 71,4 S.cm-1 because the higher the graphite, the greater the ease of passing electric current and the specimen that has high bending strength is specimen 3 with a composition ratio of 15:65:20, which is 4.54 N/mm2 because the greater the coal fly ash and resin, the stronger the interfacial bond on the polymer conductor plate, resulting in an increase in the bending strength value.
