Abstract

Nowadays television broadcasts are easier to see through mobile phones, the internet , and also with the existence of digital television broadcasting, television can be accessed via the internet. That way the development of this technology is certainly to meet the needs of the community in enjoying it. Achange in television broadcasting is very influential on society. Where the community must update the analog system to digital. Which uses a Set Top Box (STB) device that is a digital broadcast receiver that functions to convert and compress digital signals so that they can be received by analog television sets. The purpose of this research is to find out how the efforts of LPP TVRI North Sumatra Station in maintaining the existence of local content in the community. The theory used in this research is the theory of the TV Program Production Process .This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive approach, research data is obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation activities, the results of this study in the form of stages of the production process of LPP TVRI North Sumatra maintaining the existence of local content in the community, the stages of the TV program production process used include planning programs, production and purchase of programs, program execution and supervision and evaluation . Which is where these stages function to make a television broadcast program.
