Abstract

The Ideology of Socialism On Film Stealing Raden Saleh in John Fiske's Semiotic Analysis Dinda Yola Sari 199110282 Mencuri Raden Saleh is an action, crime, and comedy movie released in 2022. It tells the story of a group of amateur young people who stole a legendary painting entitled Arrest of Diponegoro by Indonesian maestro Raden Saleh. This movie presents many scenes of Socialism and Social Gap between young people and the authorities which are constructed into social reality through the perspective of Berger & Luckmann. This research aims to find out the meaning of Socialism Ideology contained in the social interactions of the characters in Mencuri Raden Saleh using John Fiske's Semiotics approach which has three levels of coding, namely the level of reality, the level of representation and the level of ideology. The results of this study show that the Ideology of Socialism is depicted through the Reality Level in the aspects of behavior, conversation, costume, expression and gesture. At the Representation Level, Socialism Ideology is depicted through aspects of camera techniques, lighting, editing, music, and action. And at the Ideology Level, it is shown in the social interaction of the characters in the Stealing Raden Saleh Movie.
