Abstract

The river is a flowing water and is widely used for various kinds of activities both for household activities, and industrial activities. High density and human activities followed by waste discharges that are not managed properly will produce waste that affects the quality of river waters. In the flow of the Siak River, various activities that can cause pollutants take place. Given the negative effects that polluted river water can have on humans and ecosystems, it is very necessary to conduct a study on the distribution of pollutants in the Siak River. Analysis of water quality in river flow is needed to determine the condition of these waters, with this system will make it easier to calculate the value of river water quality based on the percentage of conformity of the latest measurements of river water quality standards using the Canadian Council Of Ministers Of The Environment (CCME) – Water Quality Indexes (WQI) method. It uses the Temperature, Ph, EC, and DO parameters. As a basis for determining the status of river water quality, there are five categories, namely Poor, Medium, Normal, Good, and Very Good. To determine the status of Siak Pekanbaru river water quality based on the dataset used, using the CCME WQI formula F1 (Scope), F2 (Frequency), and F3 (Amplitude). With this formula, outputs will be produced determined in five water quality categories based on the CCME WQI method. From the results of CCME WQI analysis, it is known that the Siak River is suitable for use because the Siak River is still included in the normal category, which indicates good water quality but sometimes experiences pollution because it often deviates from its natural level.
