Abstract
Human trafficking cases involving two countries, namely Indonesia and Myanmar with victims being Indonesian citizens committed by Indonesians and foreigners (Myanmar). Of course, it is necessary to look at regulations in anticipating and overcoming these problems, as well as returning or bringing home Indonesian citizens who are victims. Based on the problems above, the formulation of the problem discussed in this paper is how to regulate the prevention and eradication of online human trafficking (Human Trafficking Cases in Myanmar), and what factors cause online human trafficking. This type of research is normative legal research, namely examining laws and regulations relating to the prevention and eradication of human trafficking, as well as factors that cause human trafficking. The data sources for this research are primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and tertiary legal materials. And data analysis is carried out by explaining in detail the answers to the problems studied, and drawing conclusions using the deductive method, from general to specific things. From the research results, it can be seen that the regulation of prevention and eradication of online human trafficking (Human Trafficking Case in Myanmar), seen from several regulations both nationally and internationally, including Law Number 21 of 2007, Law Number 5 of 2009, Law Number 14 of 2009, and Law Number 11 of 2008 as amended by Law Number 19 of 2016. From the several laws above, it turns out that they have not been able to eradicate the crime of human trafficking, because starting from the application of sanctions, commitment or seriousness from each country has not been clearly seen in eradicating human trafficking. Meanwhile, the factors that cause online human trafficking include factors in the application of laws, law enforcement factors, facilities and infrastructure factors, community factors, and cultural factors. These five factors can influence or can cause online human trafficking, because these factors do not support the prevention of human trafficking. The influence of the development of social media and has become a culture for people around the world who use the internet to conduct transactions, including committing human trafficking crimes.
