Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model on the mathematical connection skills of SMP Negeri 3 Gaung students. The research used is experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The population and sample of this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Gaung consisting of VII A and VII B classes using purposive sampling technique totaling 54 students. Data collection instruments are tests in the form of pretest-posttest questions. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis using the Independent sample t-Test test. Based on the results showed that the Independent sample t-Test test obtained the value Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 with ? = 0.05 and Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) = 0.003 (0.003 < 0.05). This means that H0 is rejected, meaning that there is a significant difference between the average mathematical connection ability of experimental and control class students. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of the CORE learning model on the mathematical connection skills of students of SMP Negeri 3 Gaung.
