Abstract
The construction sector plays an important role in development, the role of the construction sector in development is realized by the procurement or establishment of facilities and infrastructure which function to support the growth and development of various fields, especially the economic, social, cultural and transportation fields, but can also cause various undesirable impacts, one of which is regarding work safety aspects. The author formulates the main problem that will be discussed regarding how to implement occupational health and safety for Public Service Mall construction workers and what factors cause workers not to implement occupational health and safety in the process of demolishing public service malls according to Law Number 1 of 1970 concerning Safety Work. This type of research is empirical legal research using direct field observation research by means of surveys. The type of data obtained in this research comes from primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from interviews while secondary data was obtained from literature study. The nature of this research is descriptive analysis which provides an overview of a research object through the data that has been collected. Based on the research results, it can be understood that implementation related to the implementation of K3 and the use of personal protective equipment has actually been directed and instructed by both the contractor vendor, the government and the laws related to this research. However, it is workers' noncompliance that hinders the implementation of K3 in the construction work environment, so it is normal for work accidents to occur such as being stabbed by sharp objects, being hit by materials and debris as well as minor and serious injuries. Therefore, it is very appropriate if the contractor vendor is more assertive and pays attention to the use of Personal Protective Equipment during construction work.
