Abstract
The inquiry learning model can improve students' high-level thinking skills. This shows that in theory inquiry learning has an effect on high-level thinking skills. The inquiry learning model in this study aims to provide a better influence on students' high-level thinking on the material of analyzing multiple-choice questions on observation report texts. This study uses a quasi-experimental method. The research design used in this type of research is a non-equivalent control group design. The researcher determined that class X OLIMPIADE 1, which was the sample of the study, as an experimental class consisting of 33 students using the Inquiry Learning model and class X OLIMPIADE 2 as a control class consisting of 34 students using a conventional learning model. The tests used consisted of pretests and posttests. The results of the study found that there was an increase in students' ability to understand the material before and after the inquiry learning model was applied. In the experimental class, there was an increase in students' ability to understand the material of analyzing multiple-choice questions on observation texts presented by educators. Hypothesis test results, it is known that the significant value is 0.000. because the significant value is 0.000 < 0.05, it can be concluded that the application of inquiry learning can improve students' high-level thinking skills.
