Abstract

Polda Riau Menyapa Program on the BID Humas Polda Riau YouTube Channel is one of the programs under the auspicesof the Riau Police Multimedia Public Relations. This program is like a talk show that present several speakers according to their fields, this program is also carried out live streaming through the BID Humas Polda Riau Youtube channel account. This research aims to find out how the Riau Police Public Relations strategy in improving a positive image through the BID Humas Polda Riau YouTube channel (Polda Riau Menyapa Program). This research was conducted by analyzing the stages of the strategy carried out by the Riau Police Public Relations which made the Polda Riau Menyapa program. In study, researchers used qualitative research methods with data collection techniques of observation, interview, and documentation. The result showed that Riau Police Public Relations carried out a strategy with 3 stages. Before carrying out the stages, Riau Police Public Relations planned in advance with this program, so that there is closeness to the community, and the community can get information and education through the BID Humas Polda Riau YouTube Channel. The first stage is planning in accordance with problem identification by planning such as determining the program’s airtime, undergoing xviii a working relationship, determining themes and titles, determining sources. The second is by implementing and the third is monitoring, which is part of a unity carried out by Riau Police Public Relations through the Polda Riau Menyapa program wwhich is carried out continuously and continuousl. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the Riau Police Public Relations in the Polda Riau Menyapa program carries out good public relations strategy steps in the YouTube channel to help improve the positive imag, in an effort to improve a positive image. The public relations strategy which consists of planning, implementation, and monitoring are part of activities that are carried out continuously and integrated.
