Abstract
The effectiveness of waste management is the alignment between waste management implementation and the established plan. The importance of assessing the effectiveness of waste management is to ensure that activities are carried out as planned. Additionally, studying the effectiveness of waste management is conducted to determine the suitability of each variable in the waste management plan with the implementation of waste management. Once the level of suitability of each variable is known, variables with low compatibility between the waste management plan and its implementation will receive special attention, which will be improved accordingly. This study aims to determine whether the level of effectiveness of waste management in the Rengat District has reached the established standards. The research approach used is quantitative, with a descriptive research design. This approach is carried out in the process of identifying the amount of waste generated by each household and non-household per day and calculating the effectiveness rate by comparing the amount of household and non-household waste generated with the total amount of waste entering the final processing (TPA). The analysis used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis to calculate the amount of household and non-household waste generated in one day and to determine the level of waste management effectiveness. The results of the study show that the level of waste management effectiveness in the Rengat District is quite effective, with a percentage comparison of effectiveness reaching 71%. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of waste management program implementation, as seen from the comparison between the planned and actual waste management programs, which in this study uses the Batu Canai TPA Facility Procurement Program, Waste Management Program, and Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3) Control Program. The average level of program implementation effectiveness in this study is 85.3%, based on the Standard Reference for Research Effectiveness of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Litbang Depdagri) in 1991, with an effectiveness ratio of 85.3% classified as highly effective.
