Abstract

Global climate change has become an environmental issue that is quite popular internationally. This increase in carbon emissions originating from fossil fuels causes global climate change such as changes in weather patterns, changes in rainfall, drought, heat waves, and various other effects that can threaten all sectors of human life. One of the technologies used to prevent carbon emissions is Carbon Capture Storage (CCS). There are several types of reservoirs that are suitable for storing carbon dioxide, such as coal seams, depleted oil and gas reservoirs, and saline aquifers. Based on the theory above, a study was carried out to look at the carbon dioxide stored in the saline aquifer. It is necessary to analyze the parameters that influence the sensitivity of carbon dioxide storage so that they can be evaluated and taken into consideration in creating schemes for storing carbon dioxide. The parameters that will be tested in this research include porosity, permeability, thickness, reservoir temperature, residual gas saturation dan maximum bottomhole pressure. In this study, researchers used the GEM-CMG simulator to create a base case model and CMOST to see the most influential parameters in injecting carbon dioxide. The results obtained are that the reservoir temperature parameter has the highest influence on CO2 storage in the saline aquifer with a main effect of 93% followed by thickness with a main effect of 5.2%, residual gas saturation, porosity, permeability, and maximum bottomhole pressure with a main effect percentage the low one.
