Abstract
When the crude oil production process in oil and gas fields is carried out, usually there are by-products which are also produced together with the oil and gas, namely the production of formation water to the surface. One of the materials contained in brine water is oil (oil content). Oil content is the oil content that accumulates in brine water (Sulardi, 2019). This research aims to prevent losses from PT. SPR Langgak due to sending a quantity of oil that was not recorded due to the high oil content value. When carrying out treatment to overcome oil content, one of the methods used is to inject a chemical called a reverse demulsifier. Tests were carried out using the reverse demulsifier RD-2C1 with the results of a high oil content value with an average of 108.47 mg/L. Then a comparison was carried out using RD-1 with the results of a low oil content value, namely an average of 20.35 mg/L. This is caused by the type of reverse demulsifier, dosage and temperature which influence the process of separating oil from water. It is necessary to evaluate both the type of reverse demulsifier and the optimum dose that can be used. PT. SPR Langgak will experience losses if it does not address and follow up on this problem properly
