Abstract
Palm oil is one of the plantation commodities that is growing rapidly in Indonesia. With a total land area of 11,672861 ha in 2016. PT Perkebunan Nusantara V, hereinafter referred to as the "Company", was originally a State-Owned Enterprise which was established based on the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation (PP) No. 10 of 1996 dated 14 February 1996 concerning Capital Deposits of the Republic of Indonesia for the establishment of Companies. Initially it was a consolidation of former PT Perkebunan (PTP) II, PTP IV and PTP V plantation development projects in Riau Province. The first cycle began in the 1980s through plantation development projects of former PT Perkebunan (PTP) II, IV and V in Riau Province. The transition from Gen-1 to Gen-2 began in 2003, marked by replanting areas of old/old plants whose economic production value had decreased. The transition phase from Gen-1 to Gen-2 is expected to be completed in 2017. At that time, all of the Company's plants will be Gen-2 plants which are expected to be more productive than Gen-1, as the result of continued innovation in the field of plant cultivation.
