Abstract
In hydrocarbon production methods. Hydrocarbons contained in reservoirs cannot be fully produced in the primary stage due to various phenomena. Therefore, one of the stages used is tertiary recovery, one of which is using the Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR) method. This method serves to degrade hydrocarbons that are still not produced. This study aims to degrade the paraffin content in frozen oil by analyzing the incubation period, viscosity, and FTIR on samples that have been treated by both bacteria without the addition of additives and both bacteria with the addition of NaCl additives. This study uses 5 different samples, where there is sample 1 or basic, which is a base sample where only frozen oil without the addition of bacteria and Nacl additives. Sample 2 is a mixture of frozen oil and Bacillus sp. Sample 3 is a mixture of frozen oil and Bacillus sp. with the addition of NaCl additives. Sample 4 is a mixture of frozen oil and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. Sample 5 is a mixture of frozen oil and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria with the addition of NaCl additives. This study conducted several tests consisting of incubation, aimed at simulating the situation in the reservoir, viscosity testing, aimed at knowing the effect of bacteria and additives mixed with frozen oil, and FTIR testing, aimed at knowing the hydrocarbon chain. Incubation tests were carried out at temperatures of 60°C, 75°C, and 90°C. Furthermore, viscosity testing using Redwood Viscometer was tested at the same temperature in the incubation process which was measured on the last day of the incubation period at each temperature. The last test used was FTIR which was carried out at the FMIPA Laboratory, Riau University. From this study, it was found that Bacillus sp. + NaCl with a viscosity value of 72.19 cP was more effective than Pseudomonas aeruginosa + NaCl with a viscosity value of 73.82 cP.
