Abstract

This research is motivated by the Sago river located in the RW 03 and 04 settlements of Sago Village, Senapelan Subdistrict, Pekanbaru City, which is polluted due to household activities that utilize the river as a means of daily wastewater disposal. The purpose of this study is to determine the comparison of the suitability of existing sanitation conditions in the RW 03 and 04 residential areas with the Indonesian National Standards and applicable laws, and provide recommendations for each problem point that is not in accordance with the Indonesian National Standards and applicable laws. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis. In the results of the research, the conditions of MCK, clean water and waste have not fully met the standards of SNI 03-1733-2004 concerning Procedures for Planning Residential Environments and SNI 19-2454 of 2002 concerning waste management. There are still houses that dispose of their waste directly into the Sago river, septic tanks whose distance from the clean water source is less than 10 meters and 70 houses there are still that do not sort their waste before disposal.
