Abstract
This thesis discusses the interpersonal communication carried out by owners and customers in the Kayu Rika Ward. This study aims to find out how owners and customers communicate interpersonally with customers so that customers feel comfortable and can retain customers. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, and the object of research is customer communication between owners and customers as informants in retaining customers and creating customer satisfaction. And as for additional informants to strengthen the research results are customers of the Rika Timber Ward. This study uses the theory put forward by Joseph A Devito. The results of the study show that interpersonal communication is carried out by owners and customers who have stages, namely openness, empathy, support, positivity, and similarity.
