Abstract

Farmers process banana stems using a chopping machine by chopping the banana stems. This research aims to determine the effect of variations in the rotation of the banana stem chopper machine on production results. The benefit of this research is to get the best chopped results for livestock material. Especially by rotating the banana stem chopping machine using qualitative descriptive methods with data collection methods, literature studies and observations. The location of this research is the Workshop, Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Islamic University of Riau (UIR). This research process takes the form of testing carried out in several stages, namely variations in rotation on the chopper machine and the results of chopping. Each experiment was carried out 3 times with variations in engine speed of 800 Rpm, 900 Rpm and 1000 Rpm with blade cutting angles of 100 , 200 and 300 . At 1000 Rpm it produces a chopping capacity of 350 Kg/Hr with a suitable cutting angle of 200 with The result is a chopped thickness of 2-3 mm.
