Abstract
The average water production in each oil and gas well reaches 80% of the total fluid production. Produced water is used as injection water or discharged into the environment. Produced water can cause problems in production pipes, causing scale and corrosion and can pollute the environment if the produced water does not go through proper treatment. This research was conducted to analyze water quality using 3 filter media and 4 filter media models in order to obtain a comparison of filters that work efficiently and effectively when applied in the field. The media used in this research is an arrangement of 3 filter media, namely sand, activated carbon and graphene oxide nanosheet, while the arrangement with 4 filter media is gravel, sand, active carbon and graphene oxide nanosheet. The parameters that will be tested in this research are physical indications (color, odor, Total Dissolved Solid, Turbidity, Oil and Grase, electrical conductivity) and chemical indications (pH, Iron, Magnesium, Sulfate and total hardness). The laboratory test results for the design of 3 filter media have physical indication values (clear color, no mud smell, the reduction percentage is 95%, 86%, 22%, 83%) and the reduction percentage is based on chemical indication (20%, 71%, 49%, 76%, 43%) Meanwhile, the results of laboratory tests on the design of 4 filter media have physical indication values (clear color, no mud smell, the reduction percentage is 96%, 87%, 24%, 85%) and the reduction percentage is based on chemical indication (24 %, 80%, 50%, 77%, 44%). The results of treatment using a 3 media and 4 filter media design have met waste water and injection water quality standards. The smaller the value of the parameter, the better it is. The 4 filter media design is better than the 3 filter media design, but the most efficient design applied in the field is the 3 filter media design, because with 3 filter media it is simpler and more efficient in providing materials which can reduce production costs.
