Abstract

Analysis of Flowback Prevention Planning for Cement Cutting on String Using XCD Polymer in Well B of BZ Field M. BIELSA ZEN 193210557 ABSTRACT Well B is a production well that was closed in 2017 because it was no longer economical. This well was reopened in 2019 to be converted into an observation well. Well B was opened by drilling out cement on the plug that closed the well. Before drilling out cement, there was a problem with the pump, namely that the actual pump flow rate was not ideally matched with the pump flow rate that had been calculated so if this was forced, it would cause flow back cuttings or accumulation of cuttings when drilling out cement which could cause the pipe circuit to be pinched. Therefore, planning to prevent flow back cutting was carried out in well B, during circulation for drilling at interval one, the total displacement volume was obtained at 92.84 bbl and the total polymer volume was 16.8 bbl or 20.5 sacks and at interval two the total displacement volume was obtained. amounted to 136.35 bbl and a total polymer volume of 14.7 bbl or 18 sacks by obtaining these results, planning to prevent flow back cutting can be resolved optimally because the cutting can be retained by the polymer which has good gel strength properties, and when circulating using The lag time value was obtained for the polymer at interval one, namely 20 minutes and at interval two, namely 47 minutes, so that the cutting time was successful in reaching the surface, and the Cutting Carrying Index value was obtained for the drill pipe, namely 2.9 and for the drill collar, namely 3.39. can be successful because it exceeds the success parameter, namely greater than or equal to 1 .
