Abstract

Criminal activity is a social phenomenon that has become a major concern throughout the world, especially theft in office environments, a problem that requires serious attention. Socio-economic factors such as poverty, unemployment and economic inequality are often the main drivers for criminal acts and have a negative impact on public order and security. With the increasing complexity of modern life, various forms of crime are increasingly developing, starting from theft and fraud as well as drug trafficking. To overcome this problem, the use of conventional keys is starting to be replaced with a digital key system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. This system offers higher security by utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This research aims to design and implement a NodeMCU-based digital key system connected to an RFID sensor. The NodeMCU, as the main controller, will function to read data from the RFID card and control door access in real-time via an internet connection. With IoT integration, this system can monitor door access activities remotely, provide reports automatically, and improve office security. The expected result of developing this tool is the creation of a more effective, efficient and modern office security system. It is hoped that the implementation of this technology can reduce the risk of theft in offices, provide a sense of security to users, and become an innovative solution in the field of security based on IoT technology.
