Abstract

Computer networks are vital in supporting the daily operations at the PBJ Office in Pekanbaru. To ensure optimal network performance, an effective and efficient monitoring system is necessary. This thesis proposes the use of The Dude as a network monitoring tool integrated with WhatsApp. The Dude is a network monitoring application that can detect devices, monitor network activities, and provide notifications when issues arise. The integration with WhatsApp aims to deliver real-time notifications to network administrators through a platform that is easily accessible and frequently used. These notifications include information on network disruptions, inactive devices, and other anomalies requiring immediate attention. Consequently, this allows for a faster and more accurate response to network issues, ultimately enhancing efficiency in network management. The research results indicate that this integration successfully improves the speed and accuracy in handling network problems. The system can automatically send notifications to network administrators, minimizing the risk of prolonged downtime.
