Abstract
ANALYSIS OF COMMUNITY MOVEMENT PATTERNS BASED ON THE ESTIMATION OF THE DESTINATION ORIGIN MATRIX USING HOME INTERVIEW SURVEY DATA IN BANGKINANG KOTA DISTRICT DEWINNI LYSAFITRI 203410288 ABSTRACT Analysis of people's movement patterns is essential to understanding the dynamics of mobility and transportation demand in an area, especially in the context of rapid urbanization and increased traffic flow. The use of origin-destination matrix (MAT) estimation in this study was chosen due to its ability to systematically describe the relationship between the origin and destination locations of movements, thus providing greater insight into existing movement patterns. Bangkinang Kota Sub-district was chosen as the research location because it is the center of economic and social activities in Kampar Regency, which has experienced a significant increase in community movement due to daily activities. The method used in this study uses a qualitative method by collecting data in the form of community characteristics, origin, destination and frequency of community trips using a household interview survey, then analyzed using the origin destination matrix (MAT) estimation which is an important tool in transportation planning. MAT is used to map the relationship between various zones in an area, by organizing travel data into a matrix that shows the number of trips from each origin zone to the destination zone. The study results show that the majority of people use private motorcycles, with peak movements occurring in the morning, afternoon, and evening. The average household income is in the range of Rp 2,500,000 to Rp 5,000,000. Kelurahan Langgini has the largest movement generation because it is an activity center that has a strategic location and has complete public facilities that can become a movement magnet for the surrounding community. The highest movement attraction is in Kelurahan Bangkinang, which acts as the city center with trade, service and education activities. Movement patterns are divided into three categories: high, medium, and low, with the highest concentration in Kelurahan Bangkinang or intazona, and the second highest movement pattern of inter-zone movement from Kelurahan Langgini to Bangkinang and Kumantan occurs due to the role of these two villages as centers of activity, economy, and services and is supported by geographical proximity and adequate infrastructure. These findings provide an important basis for transportation planning and regional infrastructure development. These findings are expected to contribute to more effective and efficient transportation planning in Bangkinang Kota Sub-district, and to serve as a reference for future research in the field of urban and regional planning.
