Abstract

In the process of oil production, there are two methods that can be employed, namely natural blowout and artificial lift. With natural blowout, the fluid from the reservoir can be transported to the surface by utilizing high reservoir pressure. However, when the reservoir pressure is insufficient, artificial lift methods are used. One of the most commonly used artificial lift methods is the Electric Submersible Pump (ESP). The decision to use ESP is based on a combination of technical and economic factors. While previous studies have succeeded in increasing oil production, there has been a decrease in production and reservoir pressure after 5 years of production. Consequently, the current study involves the evaluation of the sensitivity scenarios of various parameters including the number of stages, pump setting depth, and wellhead pressure to achieve optimal production using the Prosper software. Future research should consider additional factors that could potentially affect oil production, such as the influence of other ESP parameters or the use of different artificial lift methods. Additionally, research could be directed towards other aspects that might enhance the efficiency and sustainability of oil production. The results of the study revealed a total AOF value of 23,574.7 STB/Day with respective AOF for each layer of 13980.7 STB/Day (layer 1); 4,198.6 STB/Day (layer 2); and 5,395.36 STB/Day (layer 3). Sensitivity scenarios were conducted 27 times on PSD parameters, number of stages, and wellhead pressure. The 15th sensitivity scenario was selected with a PSD of 1,000 ft; number of stages of 30; and wellhead pressure of 300 psi.
