Abstract

The presence of water in oil occurs in the emulsion arrangement caused by the presence of chemicals that act as natural emulsifiers, namely asphaltene, tar and naphthenic corrosive. The presence of water in oil is highly undesirable because it can cause erosion of the production line (Pasaribu et al., 2007). Due to the closeness of an emulsion will also affect the consistency, where generally the consistency will increase due to the arrangement of the emulsion (Dimitrov et al., 2012). As for some of the losses that will be caused by this increase in viscosity, the increased viscosity will make it difficult for oil flow so that it will increase production and transportation costs. In this study using the bottle test method to obtain an effective formulation using 3 types of demulsifiers with type A, type B and type C with a mixture variant of 2 demulsifiers and 3 demulsifiers and testing temperatures starting from 300C, 400C and 600C while pH testing starts from 4, 7 and 12. The results of this study obtained the best type of demulsifier seen from the value of BS&W, FWD and TWD, type C demulsifier with RSN 9.4 is the most optimal type of demulsifier proven by the value of BS&W is 0.5, FWD 7 ml and TWD 45 ml, so then the formulation of 2 types of demulsifiers so that the best formulation is obtained is a mixture of type C and type B (CB) seen from the value of BS&W is 0. 2 and the WD value is 48 ml and for the best formulation of 3 demulsifiers is obtained with the code Mix-3 with a composition of 20% type A, 20% type B and 60% type C with a BS&W value obtained of 0.4 and the WD value obtained is 43 ml.
