Abstract

STUDY OF LAND CRITICAL LEVEL IN SIAK DISTRICT SANTOSO 183410857 ABSTRACT Critical land is one of the forms of degraded land. If critical land is allowed to continue, then its area will increase and the land will become no longer productive, which will further affect environmental quality, material losses, and decrease community welfare. Critical land is caused by population pressure, as well as area expansion and plantations that are not as well as forest management that is not optimal. Critical land management is carried out as an effort to reduce the impact on the environment according to the critical level of these lands. Siak Regency is a district with a large growth in plantation area and continues to increase from year to year. This indicates an expansion of critical land in the district. This study aims to identify the critical level of land in Siak Regency. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive weighted using several spatial data parameters that determine critical land, namely land cover, slope, level of erosion hazard, productivity, and land management which is then overlayed on each of these parameters in agricultural cultivation areas, protected forest areas and forest areas, protection outside the forest area of Siak Regency. The results showed that there were 5 classes in Siak Regency, namely very critical, critical, somewhat critical, potentially critical, and not critical. The critical level of land in Siak Regency is divided into 5 classes, namely very critical, critical, somewhat critical, potentially critical, and not critical. Land area with very critical condition is 18.726,68 Ha, critical 65.241,43 Ha, slightly critical 88.412,47 Ha, potential critical 289.102,35 Ha, and not critical 322.411,53 Ha. The widest distribution of very critical and critical land is found in protected areas outside the forest area of 40.636,39 Ha. Followed by critical land areas for agricultural cultivation area of 40.370,59 Ha and the smallest is in a protected forest area of 2893.90 Ha , Critical Land, Overlay, GIS, Scoring, Land Critical Level
