Abstract
Roads are one of the land connecting infrastructure that has a useful part in realizing economic growth and social stability. Road performance is the ability of a road section to serve the traffic flow that occurs on the road section which is determined by the degree of saturation. The problem that occurs on the roads in the Pasar Bawah area (Jalan Saleh Abbas, Jalan Kota Baru, and Jalan Moh.Yatim) is the presence of traditional market activities in the form of side obstacles, such as pedestrians, street vendors, and parking on the shoulder of the road.The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of traditional market activities on road performance and analyze the performance of road sections in the Lower Market area during existing conditions due to traditional market activities The analysis method used was MKJI 1997, by collecting data through field observations by counting passing vehicles and side obstacles at the research site. . Based on existing conditions at peak hours, namely 07.00 – 09.00, side obstacles were obtained on the Saleh Abbas road with a total frequency value of 734 frequency of events (H). Jalan Moh.Yatim with a total frequency value of 905 frequency occurrence (VH). Meanwhile, on the Kota Baru road, side resistance values are obtained at peak hours, namely during the day at 13.00 – 15.00 with a total frequency value of 493.5 frequency of events (M). The results of data analysis at the research location obtained the degree of saturation (DS) at the time of existing conditions of peak hour traffic with parking on the road body, namely on Sunday the value of the degree of saturation on Jalan Saleh Abbas 0.58 (C), Jalan Kota Baru 0.54 (C), Jalan Moh.Yatim 0.67 (C). While the degree of saturation (DS) on Sundays without parking on the road body with the value of the degree of saturation (DS) is on Sundays the value of the degree of saturation on Jalan Saleh Abbas 0.27 (B), Jalan Kota Baru 0.25 (B), Jalan Moh.Yatim 0.31 (B). In evaluating the performance of road sections, the value of service level C is obtained when conditions exist, where the value of service level C is a condition when traffic flow is stable and traffic volume is moderate and speed begins to be limited based on traffic conditions, moderate traffic density with side obstacles increasing and affecting speed, drivers have limitations to choose speed
