Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the interaction and main effects of AB mix and poc concentrations of cow dung on growth and production in hydroponic NFT intercropping of kale and lettuce. This research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau Islamic University, Jalan Khaharuddin Nasution KM. 11, no. 113, Air Cold Village, Marpoyan Damai, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City, for 3 months from October to December 2021. The research design used a Factorial Split Plot Design (RPT) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the various concentrations of AB Mix consisting of 4 factors, namely AB Mix concentrations of 500 ppm, 1,000 ppm, 1,500 ppm and 2,000 ppm. The second factor is the POC of cow dung consisting of no POC, 5 ml/L water, 10 ml/L water and 15 ml/L water. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, root length, economic wet weight and plant dry weight. Observational data were analyzed statistically and continued with the BNJ test at the 5% level. The results showed that the interaction with AB Mix nutrition and POC spraying of cow dung had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaf blades, root length, economic wet weight and dry weight on kale and lettuce plants. The main effect of the AB Mix nutrient concentration is 2,000 ppm which is the best treatment. Giving POC cow dung did not significantly affect plant height and root length. However, it affected the parameters of the number of leaf blades, economic wet weight and dry weight of kale and lettuce plants.
