Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of Arabic speaking skills among female students. The implementation of muhadharah activities aimed to determine the influence of muhadharah activities and efforts to improve Arabic speaking skills through muhadharah activities among eighth-grade female students at Ummu Sulaim Islamic Boarding School in Pekanbaru. This study employed a quantitative research design with an ex post facto research model. The results of the t-test in this study indicated that the calculated t-value was 7.700 with a significance level of 5%, which was greater than the tabulated t-value of 1.657, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it could be said that muhadharah activities had an influence on improving Arabic speaking skills among eighth-grade students at Ummu Sulaim Islamic Boarding School in Pekanbaru, thus proving that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Based on the results of the correlation coefficient test, it is known that the R value indicates the correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The R value was 0.569 or 56.9%. This means that the correlation between variable X (muhadharah activities) and variable Y (Arabic speaking skills) had a moderate or sufficient level of relationship. Furthermore, from the results of the coefficient of determination (R2) test, it was known that the contribution of the independent variable (muhadharah activities) to the dependent variable (Arabic speaking skills) in the R Square value is 0.323 or 32.3%, while the remaining 67.7% was influenced by other variables not included in this study.
