Abstract

The existence of educational facilities in Rumbai District can be seen from the uneven distribution of educational facilities, this is because the distribution is only concentrated in the middle of the Yos Sudarso road corridor. So it is necessary to analyze the distribution of facilities in Rumbai District based on the neighborhood unit approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the pattern of distribution of educational facilities in Rumbai District, randomly, in groups or uniformly. In addition to the pattern of distribution, the provision of schools should comply with applicable service coverage criteria so that educational facilities can be served by the community. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. Quantitative descriptive methods are used to identify the distribution of educational facilities, nearest neighbor analysis and buffering analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was found that educational facilities in Rumbai District totaled 47 school locations consisting of elementary, junior high, and high school/vocational school, based on the results of the nearest neighbor analysis the distribution of educational facilities in Rumbai District cluster pattern. Based on the results of the buffering analysis that the service coverage of educational facilities in Rumbai District for the elementary level, out of 27 elementary school locations, 33.47% of the areas in Rumbai District are able to reach elementary school locations and 66.53% of areas are not accessible to elementary school locations. For the junior high school level, out of 11 junior high school locations, 31.31% of the Village area in Rumbai District is able to reach junior high school locations and 68.69% of Kelurahan areas are not accessible to junior high school locations. For the high school level, out of 8 high school locations, 35.22% of the Kelurahan in Rumbai District are able to reach high school locations and 64.78% of Kelurahan areas are not accessible to high school locations.
