Abstract
This was based on the principle that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) placed the perfection of character as the primary mission of Islamic prophecy. Furthermore, character also served as a measure of one's faith. Achieving perfection in character (noble character) required cultivation. Therefore, a teacher not only had a role but also served as an educational force from formal institutions that taught the ability to read and write the Qur'an, imparted knowledge about worship, and conducted guidance on behavior or noble character. The research problem formulation in this study was how the Role of Islamic Education Teachers in Cultivating Students’ Noble Character at Elementary School 115 Pekanbaru. This study aimed to determine the Role of Islamic Education Teachers in cultivating students’ noble character at Elementary School Pekanbaru. The subjects in this study were Islamic Education teachers. Meanwhile, the object of this research was the role of Islamic Education teachers in cultivating students’ noble character. The informant selection for this research was key informants, 3 Islamic Education teachers. This study used a qualitative research design. The approach used in this study was a case study. Data collection techniques were interviews and field documentation. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The conclusion of this study was that Islamic Education teachers had methods and strategies in cultivating students’ noble character by setting an example, habituation, advice, stories, imparting knowledge, motivating students to practice noble character, creating a religious school environment, such as IMTAQ programs, congregational Dhuha and Dhuhr prayers, religious trips, commemorating Islamic holidays, speech competitions, tahfidz, rebana, and habituation of reading the Qur'an before entering the classroom so that students became accustomed to a religious environment.
