Abstract
This research was motivated by the low moral behavior of students at junior high school 16 Pekanbaru. This could be observed from the frequent tardiness, class skipping, sleeping in class, disrespectful speech, and disturbing classmates. The aim of this research was to investigate the role of Islamic Education teachers in fostering the morals of 7th-grade students at high school 16 Pekanbaru. The study was conducted at high school 16 Pekanbaru with 2 Islamic Education teachers and 1 7th-grade student as informants, using interviews and documentation for data collection. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification. The results of this study showed that Islamic Education teachers played an active role in fostering moral behavior at high school 16 Pekanbaru. This was evident through several methods employed by Islamic Education teachers, such as encouraging congregational prayers, reading the Quran before lessons, respecting elders, and organizing religious activities that enhance students' religious values.
