Abstract

The productivity of oil wells will eventually decline due to the extensive usage of oil in various aspects of human life over time. Additionally, reservoir pressure decreases during production due to the increased water production rate and reduced gas drive strength, necessitating the use of artificial lift to raise fluids from the wellbore to the surface. Currently, well "Abigail-117" employs a gas lift artificial lift system. Gas lift is an artificial lift technology that increases oil production by injecting compressed gas into the production well through the annulus. However, the gas lift in well "Abigail-117" is experiencing issues, as its productivity is considered suboptimal. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance oil production by switching to another type of artificial lift, specifically an electric submersible pump (ESP). The analysis of economic indicator calculations uses the gross split production sharing method to evaluate feasibility and analyze the sensitivities affecting the profitability of replacing the electric submersible pump (ESP) in well Abigail-117, Field-X. Based on the economic analysis results of the pump replacement work, the project is deemed economically viable, with an NPV of $478.812, an IRR of 77%, and a POT of 1,3 years (16 months). Sensitivity analysis was conducted by varying the factors by ±20%, resulting in 80% and 120% adjustments. The sensitivity analysis indicated that oil prices and cumulative production are the most influential parameters on NPV and IRR in determining the feasibility and economic value of the new ESP.
