Abstract

Oil and Gas Production Sharing Contracts are something that greatly influences profits, so the state will definitely take into account contracts that will bring in profitable income. This research will compare upstream oil and gas industry contracts using oil and gas contractor economic indicators such as NPV, IRR, and POT. This research focuses on Indonesian PSC contracts, namely Cost Recovery and Gross Split, with Malaysian contracts, namely R/C Malaysia. This comparison was carried out to find out whether Indonesia is able to compete in international upstream oil and gas contracts. Also the aim of this research is to find out among the contracts studied, which contract is more feasible in the case study of field development using infill wells. From the results of calculations of economic indicators for planning infill wells with an investment of 6,943 US$ M and an oil price of 79.38 US$/bbl, it was obtained from researchers that the Malaysian R/C profit sharing system scheme obtained more attractive results compared to Cost Recovery and Gross Split. Because the Malaysian R/C contractor's income is 34,702.42 MUS$, then Gross Split is 30,380 MUS$ and Cost Recovery is 10,517 MUS$. Also in terms of economis indicators, Mlaaysia’s R/C superior to Indonesia, with an NPV 19,644.85 MUS$, IRR 142% and POT 0.15 years.
