Abstract
Field X has Original Oil in Place (OOIP) of 60.16 MMSTB with a Recovery Factor of approximately 25.12% of which at Field X there are many wells that are not producing. One of the optimizations for increasing oil production in this field is to reactivate potentially dead wells. The N1, N2, and N3 wells are the subject of research to analyse whether they have potential for reactivation. The well's eligibility for reactivation is determined by the size of the remaining reserve. Reserve calculations are carried out by applying the decline curve analysis method. Besides, it's also important to know what's wrong with a well that doesn't produce. The method used is chan’s diagnostic plot to determine whether wells have water coning or channeling. From the results of the analysis using chan's diagnostic plot, it was found that well N1 was indicated to be experiencing channeling problems while wells N2 and N3 were experiencing the same problem, namely water coning. Furthermore, after calculating using the decline curve analysis method, the three wells are feasible to be reproduced with the acquisition of the remaining reserves of N1 wells of 3.40 MSTB, N2 wells of 11.10 MSTB, and N3 wells of 11.04 MSTB.
