Abstract

This study is motivated by the existence of problems in overcoming student delinquency at SDN 008 Sungai Simbar, Kateman district. There are some students who commit delinquent acts that disrupt the learning process. So, it requires preventive efforts from Islamic Studies teachers. The problem formulation of the study is: what are the preventive efforts made by the Islamic Studies teachers in overcoming student delinquency at SDN 008 Sungai Simbar, Kateman District. This study aims to investigate the preventive efforts of Islamic Studies teachers in overcoming student delinquency at SDN 008 Sungai Simbar. The theoretical framework of the study is the preventive efforts of Islamic Studies teachers according to Bimo Walgito (2009). This is a qualitative study with the data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The technical data analysis is carried out by means of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the study show that the preventive efforts made by the Islamic Studies teachers in overcoming student delinquency at SDN 008 Sungai Simbar are by reinforcing Islamic teachings, providing guidance and coaching, instilling legal awareness, collaborating with parents, and evaluating. This can be seen from the preventive efforts of Islamic Studies teachers who always provide understanding and guidance as well as becoming good examples or role models so that the students do not commit delinquent acts.
