Abstract

Well M is an old well undergoing workover with a reactive well program. The addition of a new zone during this workover is intended to enhance the production rate of the well. After the new perforation zone is added, a swabbing operation is necessary to determine the production flow rate and to recommend the appropriate pump for the well. The swab test performed on this well uses the comingle zone method, where swabbing is carried out at several newly perforated intervals. Specifically, the swabbing for this well was conducted at the intervals of 2464 – 2728. After calculations, it was found that the flow rate for the reactive well workover of Well M in Field Z is 662 bbl/day with a Productivity Index (PI) of 30.85 psi/bbl and a maximum flow rate of 1536.17 bbl/day. The recommended pump types for Well M in Field Z are as follows For Company X (the company providing pumps previously used in Well M): Series 400 with pump types D1050N and D1150N. For Company Y (a company in the operational area of Well M): Series 338 with the Flex Pump ER type or Series 400 with the Flex Pump 10 and Flex Pump ER types.
