Abstract

Infrastructure development plays the most important role in encouraging economic growth both at the national and regional levels, namely by building roads. Improper road construction results in damage to road construction and causes losses to road users. One of the causes of road damage is the instability of the bearing capacity of the subgrade, where the subgrade or subgrade cannot reach the required density. The purpose of this research is to obtain soil density and free compressive strength (UCS) values through the soil stabilisation process with cement plus DIFA soil stabilizer additive. This research was conducted with quantitative method in this case is by conducting laboratory testing. Soil stabilisation was carried out by mixing native soil plus cement and difa soil stabilizer additive. The composition carried out is 1 m3 of native soil plus cement at a composition of 8%, 12% of the dry weight of the soil and additive DIFA soil stabilizer 2% of the weight of surface dry soil. The testing methods were Standard Proctor and UCS tests to obtain density values in the form of maximum dry weight and free compressive strength values of the stabilised soil. The soil density value based on the standard proctor test is showing the original Tenayan soil density value of 1,776 kg/m3. The mixed proctor test where the soil plus 8% cement is 1,795 kg/m3, 12% cement is 1,821 kg/m3. And the density value of Tanjungpinang native soil is 1,424 kg/m3, mixed proctor test where soil plus 8% cement is 1,4462 kg/m3, 12% cement is 1,540 kg/m3. The free compressive strength (UCS) value for soil samples in the unsoaked condition at the age of 14 days is where the Tenayan native soil shows a UCS value of 190 kN/m2 and the Tanjungpinang native soil UCS value of 291.50 kN/m2. The soil with 8% cement mixture plus 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer additive in Tenayan soil is 3,229.73 kN/m2 and Tanjungpinang soil is 991.25 kN/m2. In 12% cement mixture plus 2% DIFA Soil Stabilizer additive in Tenayan soil of 2,813.69 kN/m2 and Tanjungpinang soil of 1,410.63 kN/m2.
