Abstract
Inadequate existing drainage conditions and the construction of a Waste Water Disposal Plant (WWTP) in the Kodim Market area are significant problems. When it rains with high intensity, the area experiences flooding with a depth of 15-20 cm. Based on these problems, it is necessary to have a LID concept with infiltration well technology that functions to collect rainwater so that more water seeps into the ground. This study aims to determine the volume of runoff and determine the effectiveness of infiltration ponds as a method in controlling local flooding in Kodim Market. The methods used in this research include hydrological analysis with local rainfall data of Pekanbaru city in the span of 2009-2023, as well as modeling using EPA SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) hydrology software. Measurement of surface flow discharge before and after infiltration well installation was conducted to determine the significant impact on runoff volume. Based on the results of the analysis, the Sunjoto method is more efficient in terms of quantity. So that the design of infiltration ponds can be determined, the number and dimensions of infiltration ponds are obtained at the JN5 runoff point with a depth of 2.5m. The rest in other JNs obtained a depth of 3 m. The number of infiltration wells for all runoff points is 67 with a diameter of 1 m. The use of infiltration wells is able to effectively reduce the volume of rainwater runoff by 78%, in accordance with the capacity of infiltration wells planned at the research site, namely the capacity of infiltration wells of 157.39 m3. While the total infiltration discharge reaches 0.024 m3 /second so that the runoff discharge at the 10-year return period flood discharge of 201.6 m3 can be reduced to 44.184 m3. The study concludes that infiltration ponds are an effective and sustainable solution to reduce localized flooding in market areas, while helping to improve groundwater management in urban areas.
